Tribute To A Master

(Web image)

He has been awarded 47 times on film festivals, especially abroad. He was also awarded doctorate degrees honoris causa by two Portuguese universities as well as the Order of St. James of the Sword and the French Légion d’Honneur.
Actors such as Catherine Deneuve, John Malkovich, Jeanne Moreau, Michel Piccoli, Claudia Cardinale or Marcello Mastroianni have casted his movies.
World's oldest active film director has left us yesterday at the age of 106.
RIP MANOEL DE OLIVEIRA

Thanks for sharing this. My knowledge of film and film directors is rather sparse, but this gentleman obviously did much good work and lived a wonderfully long life. May he rest in peace.

I know some of his works, but not too many. Sadly most of them weren't available here...
