Alfama Roofs

Alfama is Lisbon's oldest district. This is where the Moorish elite lived during the occupation (8th-12th century).

What a view over the rooftops.. The red leading up to the blue of sky and sea is very appealing José, nice one!

What a shot! But what that's iron grid on the near roof? And I'm amazed at how deep the water must be so close to the land.

Just reading 'The Day of Atonement' by David Liss, with some amazing descriptions of the Alfama as it was in 1745.

The old and the new. Terracotta makes an amazing roof.

Even though the roofs are uniform in color, the details make all the difference.

Roofs and water, nice view.

That's a very cool picture, for the architecture, the light and the cruise ship that appears to be up on the beach.

Pretty rooftops - shame about the huge tourist ship though.
