Empire Square

Belém, Lisbon
All colonies got their independence from Portugal in 1975 but the name of the square remains the same.
Click here for a full view of the square and the monastery in the background.

A name is part of history, and this square deserves it!

Oh thank you for letting me know what the name of this park is. We spent some time here, soaking in the November sun and eating roasted chesnut while people watching. Such a beautiful part of Lisbon.

Another delightful photo showing Lisbon in all its glory. The empire may be gone but memories remain.

Beautiful---- would love to see it in person, but this is almost as good.

It's history, I don't see why the name should disappear. It's gorgeous JM!
