One Coach, Six Horses

(New) National Coach Museum

The new museum is a total disappointment. A €40 million disappointment!
It's just a huge "wharehouse" full of coaches. The display is completely different from the models that have been shown since construction started. A big shame!

That is such a shame. But, you photographed a beautiful coach!

What a pity, that was a lot of money for a mere warehouse!

That is a shame and a disappointment -- and an expensive one as well!!

The coaches are beautiful, but such a plain setting.

Sad that it is a disappointment but I love this coach and horses. Diane.

That's a shame. The coaches are magnificent and should be displayed in a proper setting.

I fantasize about riding in a coach as fabulous as this.

I remember the old space you have shown and it was much nicer than this one, JM!

@RedPat: Of course, you can check it here: http://oeirasdailyphoto.blogspot.pt/2011/02/national-coach-museum.html

I have nothing against a modern building housing the coaches, but the display HAS TO BE really special, which sadly it's not the case. At all!!!

I thought your photos showed off the excellence of these coaches and horses very well. I'm sorry that the display is not up to the best of standards. Presentation is everything, some would say...

It is so common now to waste money for something worse...

Love the first shot.

Oh no! Have they gotten rid of the old place? It was so beautiful.

Here, you've captured a blue tint on the horses. The coach and horses are lovely, even in a warehouse.

How sad the presentation is not as good as it could be! I think it's amazing there are such coaches in good repair and I would be very tempted to see them up close in person.

I'm so disappointed to hear this. This was one place I was going to visit when I came to Lisbon. (Wishes!)

Well at least you have your coaches. Mine have disappeared...

They could at least have warmed up the walls and flooring with some rich colors and texture. Especially given the abundance of talented artisans in your country and on constant display in this very blog. It is very stark. Still, it's awesome these coaches are so well-preserved and cared for.

Oh no. The old opulent setting was so perfect for the guilded coaches.

Sad news.
I guess if this is the tax money that have been used, you have a very good reason for being disappointed.
