The 'island'

Amazing what you can find right in the center of Carcavelos, next to Oeiras.

I love this. The contrast is amazing and I have a love for aged buildings.

Wow, love this picture, the curving street and the old building look amazing, sort of like a scene from an old book.

That's beautiful JM. Looks like someone lives in it, I can see curtains hanging in the window. I wonder how old this is? Is it a private residence?

Tanya, the right part of the building looks abandoned, but the curtain also makes me think someone still lives there...

Well, maybe it's beauty in disguise. Why don't you knock on the door and find out JM :-)

I love these kind of shots. Lovely textures and shapes.

Aged buildings often resonate, don't they? This one, although probably not good for one's health to live in, is a gold-mine for a photographer. I like the treatment you have given it, JM.

A photographer's delight to find a building with such texture and color.

I'm bonkers on the contrast of old and new here, too. Plus the contrast of the colors. Good eye.

The new and the old. I sure hope they preserve this wonderful old building.

The building is so beautiful. I hope it's preserved in semi-repaired state for a long time.
