That gives a moral line too! "We lose this and we get that", meaning that we lose our trees and we get the ship.

Not sure what would be better. Sit on the log watching the ship pass or being on the ship watching the shoreline pass. I think both would be great.

Love the photo and the title. You open up the question: which is the driftwood...the ship or the fallen tree?

I like a lot the perspective of the photo. With the tree on the front you have obtained a great deep on the picture.

une belle composition, et une envie de croisière...

a beautiful composition, and a desire to cruise ...

Beautiful view. That is quite a large cruise ship out there on the water.

It is a good thing that the log was washed up on shore, rather than being struck by a ship's propeller. The water must have been quite high for the log to be deposited where it is located on shore.

Lovely contrast with the driftwood and the ship! You have the best artistic eye, JM.

I like the contrast between the quiet lonely beach and the floating city in the background.

I think the main thing about this photo is the composition, which is simply great!

That's one heck of a big piece of driftwood. Looks like a dinosaur bone!

Effective shot, JM.

Wonderfully balanced photo. So sharp too.

I almost think I would prefer to drift away on the log than suffocate on a ship that big.
