Reflections on a lighthouse

Ponta do Sal is a small rocky cape next to São Pedro Beach.

There is something very appealing about a lighthouse. I've traveled the Oregon coast several times and love stopping at the lighthouses along the way.

The top shot is delightfully nautical.

For awhile I lived in Portland Maine and could see three separate lighthouses from my window. How comforting were their lights through some very long nights.

They are always fascinating places.

Great angles. Did you get to go inside the lighthouse??

I don't think I've ever seen a lighthouse light so up close and personal.

Wow! So this is the closest we can get to the light house? I only see their pics so far :(.

Is it still a working lighthouse? Does someone live there?

Love lighthouses...you've captured the essence of this one nicely, JM!

I'm beginning to believe that you're in collusion with the weather authorities! Another gorgeous day, no doubt, and elegantly snapped.

Hi JM! I just gave you an award and if you would like to accept you can pick it up on my blog.

I too have a crush on lighthouses. They are sprinkled liberally around our massive coastline and their are groupies who go on lighthouse tours. There is even a website that details all the lighthouses in Australia
