Rua dos Fornos

The old Rua dos Fornos (Kiln Street) leads you to the place I've shown yesterday.

Your photos about the kilns stir up the curiosity. But your banner "tops" them all. :)

BTW, once I heard something about (slaked?) lime. That it could have been the explanation for the miracle with Elijah and the prophets of Baal on Mt. Carmel.
1 Kings 18: 38: "Then the fire of the LORD fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench".

Your choice of these two particular photographs is wonderful, JM. They are like reverse images. What a rich pair.

Ooo I love a red door. Neat shots.

Yes it is raining here too and very gray too. I had to post SOME color. They were taken in March of last year and the valley should be covered by mid March this year. YAY!! MB

Strange reds in these pictures, we have some buildings of the same color of your first image, it's not a very common shade nowadays.

Outstanding compositions and colours!
Love also the post before and especially the turtles. So good that you have found signs of spring!

It all looks very old to me! Which it is, I guess. And your composing skills come through once more! Red is such a great color; if I could get something red it every photo, I would!

Gee..this looks old and the colors remind me of an area of town here that's similar but in green!(lol)

I love the photos of doors. Each door on your photos has its own story, character and different opportunities behind.

Fornos must be furnace.
Amazing how colorful paint can transform rooms, doors and entire buildings and make them look fun and inviting. Gorgeous photos.
