The small fishing village of Carrapateira dates back to the period of Moorish occupation. It's located on the Vicentine Coast (southwestern Portugal, 280kms from Lisbon), in the heart of a wonderful natural park, containing a great number of marine and terrestrial wildlife species.

Gorgeous houses and wild nature!
Beautiful photos. I hope you had a great time. I love those white buildings.
A beautiful area, to be sure.
Breathtaking! The scenery and the beautiful little village.
JM, How lucky you are to be able to visit this gorgeous coast. I'd like to jump right into the photo to stay awhile.
Hi JM...re your comment on Florida Fotos...I can't imagine these magnificent birds in large numbers flying above in the sky! What a sight that must have been!
Wellcome back!!
It looks like greek islands! Very nice place!
From these two shots alone we get a sense that this was a wonderful holiday.
The first view is impressive, the second so neat and old fashioned, with some modern frills. The white buildings have the elegance of simplicity.
Oh my that's a GORGEOUS view! Would love to view it in person! WoW!
My brother was stationed in Rota, Spain a while back in the Navy - just south of the Portugal/Spain border.
What a view! It looks so peaceful and calm there. And the village has that quaint old time feel.
the sea side is absolutely gorgeous !!!
The lovely white and blue remind me of Greece. Just a beautiful town JM. It's gray and chilly here. I need the virtual vacation!

Looks like Paradise for me - fabulous sea, fabulous sky and no snow:)
Welcome back!
Welcome back. It looks like you would have stayed longer if you could. So beautiful and the gorgeous white building. Love it.
I like you smiling avatar back again. MB

This looks like a lovely place to visit. very picturesque. And thanks for asking about my knee. i am now out of physical therapy and it has been almost four months since the surgery and I seem to now being doing much better and am able to bend down. I will see over the new few months whether my knee is fully improved when I start bending down more and more for all of the wildflower and spring flower photos. I hope all is well. we will post Tanzania photos soon on our viva la voyage website. Tanzania was awesome.
The first image impressed me a lot :)
Beautiful. I can totally imagine myself there for summer vacation.
Carrapateira is a whole different ball game - very Mediterranean, white and blue. Gorgeous photos on your other blog.
Looks like a quaint and peaceful village. I love that first shot - breathtaking.
I betting you had a wonderful trip!!! :)
Wow! I really wanna have summer when I see this wonderful place and shot!
Wish you a great week:-)
Great shot of the beach and the buildings are lovely too. You make it look very desirable ... probably because it is!
