What a very pretty building! The white exterior with the tan stones make it very elegant. Interesting how it is built on the hill. Where in relation to the second photo is the first photo, with this modern wing?
It seems incongruous to add such a modern extension to such a classical building. I am sure that is what they said about the I.M Pei pyramid in front of the Louvre.
Great angles and contrast on that first photo and the tree shadows on the second are nice. I always like to know "more" and thank you for telling something about the building. Merci!
I agree with Dina, it's all good! Love your composition it the first shot! The addition does indeed blend well with the original. Yes, I'd love to have tea there!
Your first photo is simply great! It seems that they did a very good job at restoring and modernizing this building. I'm quite sure those steps near the windows are benches of sort: any close-up available?
That top photo really excites me - I'd be thrilled if that was mine. It's the colours, the light and shade, the straight lines and diagonals. The new architecture really adds to the old, I think. Phew, now I'm ready for a long cool drink.

A tea room, a small palace, a cultural center, sigh . . . it's all good.

@Francisca: The tea room is in the back next to the Norfolk pine tree.
Zé estás PRO. As cores e ângulos bem bonitos. Quando eu regressar proponho-te um desafio...

That is a great shot. Very difficult to compose but you did a great job here JM!

Very interesting--I like the smoothness of the look.
Re wildfires: I did read about all the fires in Portugal and they are so devastating. MB
It looks like a beautiful addition, modern but still blending well with the orginal look. I'd have tea here!

The windows are what catch my eye. So pleasing to look at.
Ah, small palaces - gotta love them! I wonder how the tea is there? And scones?

Bravo to the photographer.
Looks so new and fresh.
I do love the fresh white simplicity ... glowing in the sun.
Pretty building and you captured it with a great composition and lines against that blue sky.
You're right, Joanne's photo lookes EXACTLY like Arizona. I told her it's crazy, I feel like I've been in that exact spot!
Beautiful building, not sure about the white though. Maybe I've lived around adobe too long. I need color.
I think this modern style add something extra to the old style! Beautiful light and lines you have managed to catch with your camera. A nice place!
la première est superbe !quel graphisme !!
A fine place to have tea
