Juxtapositions

A common view when a city sits on seven hills.
Rossio Square, Lisbon
The ruins of the Carmo Convent stand right above the building that's being restored. The convent was built in 1389 and partially destroyed by the Great Earthquake in 1755. It currently houses an archaeological museum.

Very nicely composed JM, lovely fountain in foreground, and the ruins of the convent look exactly like the kind of place that would be excellent to explore!!

Great composition and each layer is in perfect focus with a treat for the eyes. The contrast of the textures of the fountain with its water is refreshing.

A visual treat! I can understand why they never restored the convent having been built so long ago.

Gosto da composição, só no enquadramento é que acho que devias ter dado mais pouquinho do lado direito para a fonte não ficar colada ao final da foto.

I love the perspective and composition of this photo, playing with the depth to capture the fountain first

What a place and what an image. There is so much to see in this picture. Wonderful. JM. The fountain is big and beautiful, and nearly every building in the scene has a different architectural style.

This is a really beautiful cityscape JM -- and I have fallen behind on reading blogs while we were on our roadtrip, and so I just spent a lovely few minutes scrolling down a ways -- all of your posts are so interesting and I enjoy the variety (even the screen shot of the bond downgrade, funny -- but I learned something.

Your photos are (well, not that one) but all the rest -- are just absolutely lovely! Thanks.
