There certainly looks like a big crowd. I understand that Lisbon had one of the biggest protests. I think the bottom shot really sets the scene (and scale)

Looks like a large and peaceful crowd exercising their rights.

Sound and fury signifying...??????

I hope the Wall Street crooks and your equivalent are getting less and less sleep these days. We had a bunch of Wall Street traders crying in their beer the other day 'cause they might not get their million dollar bonuses this year!

Great shots of a great crowd.

The people are speaking out. It is good. I don't want to slip back into the 19th century...

Wow, that is a huge turn out. It arrived here yesterday too but, I didn't get down to the capital to see it. I'll have to travel that way today and see how many are there.

There are so many of these protest going on all over the world! I just hope the politicians/government get the message and do something for the people instead of just for themselves for a change. Great post, JM! Thank you!

I assume from what Google translate told me was on the signs that this was a protest of current economic woes. The faces in your third photo are amazing.

I wonder if all the protests all over the world will change anything. Probably not.

That's quite a turn out!

That protest looks huge! I guess there is a lot to protest in your economy now.

The feelings seem to be the same 'round the world. There is a large "occupy" rally going on in (nearby) Portland (Oregon) that is one of the largest in the country (up to 8,000 protestors at times), and has been going on for over a week.

I just hope and pray that these protests stay peaceful, as I saw on the news this morning that some around the world have gotten violent.

Wow, what a crowd!

The requests of these people are almost unbelievably silly and out of this world. How can anybody take them seriously? Chaos brings only more chaos...

@VP: I totally disagree with you. We have been robbed in every possible way by our politicians (and their powerful gangs) who have made fortunes after 'working for the people' and now we are asked to sacrifice ourselves for the country sake?! It's simply preposterus! Justice is all that's being asked.
