"The Art of War" exhibition at the Belém Cultural Center, Lisbon

Sorry I'm one day late, but here is my tribute to the 6 million people killed at German concentration camps.

Nice tribute JM. One of the worst atrocities the world has seen.

It is always chilling to see actual newspapers from the wartime.

This is a startling collection of images! Its an historical period that is memorable for the wrong reasons!

I've been to many holocaust museums and they always seem to bring me to tears. These newspapers are certainly startling.

So moving... I sincerely hope that people will learn to stand up against such atrocity!

Never too late to share this. Must be kept in mind. Must be.
I've not been to any holocaust museums, but I WWII history is my favorite and would love to visit Europe to experience them. Great post.

No, it isn't ever too late to share this! I was a very young girl during WWII, but the horror one saw in the news films at the theaters during those days left pictures etched in ones mind. Later, when I lived in Germany, I visited a number of the prison camps and the horror was even more deeply etched! We must never, ever forget! Thank you for this post, JM!

Though I am too young and even my mother was too young in Nazi Germany to have known this horror, I will never allow it to be forgotten. I have been looked at perversely at society dinners when I have voluntarily interrupted anti-semitic remarks coming from the poshest of Parisians...

Thanks, JM, for these photos. We must never forget. Sadly racism and anti-Semitism continue hardly unabated.

A sad post, but of course something we MUST not forget. There is a Holocaust Museum fairly near here and we definitely plan to visit it this year.

This material is fascinating in a perverse way... It is useful to remember the horrors of the past but without ignoring the actual dangers of the present.
