I love that ornate clock. I'm curious about the windows and the buildings around this square. I would assume they are commercial offices? Or perhaps government?

Nicely composed with everything centered and proportioned. The arch is spectacular!

Kathy, all buildings around the square on the previous post are government departments.

When we were on our recent National Geographic tour of Bhutan, our photographer/tour leader talked to us about "layering" photos, with foreground and background subjects of interest.

You have achieved great depth with the sidewalk pattern, the people, converging rows of buildings, arch and statue.

Master shot! I love that they have kept this plaza uncluttered. The walking group totally makes this shot for me!

Your country has such beautiful historical buildings. Thank you for generously sharing both the old and the renovated to us.

Another piece of architectural beauty. And those paving stones are really nice too.

The arch is awesome and what a fantastic capture, JM! I do love your composition and you do indeed have a great eye! I'm always fascinated by the tile work. All that beauty and fantastic skies for a bonus! Doesn't get any better! Have a wonderful week!

I hate the word, "awesome," but in this case it fits! It fits not only the subject matter of this shot, but the photographer's technique and skill. I would also say it's superb for the composition, the lighting, the arch itself, the statue in the background, the identical facing buildings, the tile with the design leading the eye into the photo, and the people which gives a sense of scale. Oh, it's also very well exposed!

Very well framed!

The architecture is fabulous and the perspective in your photo enhances the layers of interest. Love the color contrasts and the matching sections of amber buildings... glad you included the tile detail

So much beauty for the eye.

I'll just ditto Lowell. :-) Seriously, it's a great shot. Lots going on yet not busy, and nicely anchored to the tiles in front.

As always a wonderfully composed shot ... that tiny monument in the background and the row of people giving life to the scene.

This has got to be one of those perfect images that we all dream of taking, bravo JM..

This arch is so beautiful, and fits well to the surrounding buildings. Great choice of perspective and I love how symmetric this picture is.
