I think I asked you before it you know why they put pulpits up high like that. It has nothing to do with being seen. It puts the priest at least 8 feet above criticism!

The pulpit is not the only work of art here...
I've noticed that about pulpits in old churches here too. No way they'll be able to accommodate the big, fat priests nowadays.
