Carcavelos Beach
Hot winds have been blowing from the Sahara Desert. Today is supposed to be the worse day. This photo was not taken today, of course - I will not go out until night falls - but I wonder how crowded beaches will be despite the warnings we constantly hear on the news. I really don't understand people sometimes, especially some crazy tourists who look like boiled shrimps at the end of the day.

It hurts looking at all those red lobsters in full sun! ;-)
I am more inclined to hang out in a rocking chair on the porch, in the shade, sipping mint julep, waiting for the evening breeze.
Yo, 42!? I hope the lobster-red tourists at least know they have to drink a lot these days.
la mer le soleil,la chance !
I completely agree with you about people willingly roasting in the sun...
107 F is very hot. I thought it was hot here when it hit 90!
Unfortunately, those folks will pay for their sins...skin cancer is so prevalent these days.
I don't understand them, either! :)
They're simply dying for a tan ;)
♥nic
too hot! although i live thru texas hot, dry summers, i don't like those temps above 100, either!
That is definitely crazy being out in the hot heat. It is in the 90s here in Maine plus the humidity and it is stay in weather. Keep cool!!
In that kind of temperature I am inside with shades drawn and me wrapped in a moist sheet.
Tourists here are just as mad, so are some of the locals who think that sunscreen protects them.
You are so right. That is way too hot to be sitting out there in the broiler.
Ah, boiled shrimp indeed, JM!! I'll never understand it either and I surely don't envy you the heat wave your country is experiencing right now! Wish I could send you some of our cool air and clouds (63 degrees here right now)!! Take care and stay cool!!
I would be inside with you!
I love it! Looking for a cooling down at the beach. Have fun! ;-)
Best regards from the Netherlands,
Gert Jan
That is far too hot for me! But having originated in England and lived in Holland for 10 years, I can tell you that summer sunshine is very precious and not to be missed for those on holiday. (Of course, now I live somewhere that's sunny 300 days a year and never want to go back!)
42 is a bit too warm for me. We had 24 today and that was fine.
your shot is amazing.
we just finished our own heatwave version, thank goodness.
please stay cool and keep hydrated.
Looks like a nice crowd. Not to many people.
OMG. I wilt once it hits 90. Don't imagine the temps drop into the cool range at night. What do you do to stay cool in this kind of heat?
I agree, far too hot to be outside!
wow it's impressive!Não abuse do sol, e use bastante creme protetor solar!
***22C hoje aqui na Belgica.
abraços

It's exactly the same here JM the beaches are packed in the really hot weather, me I'd rather swim in the pool :)
We were hot enough in the low 30's and I agree, why end up looking like a boiled shrimp. What for, it does not look pretty and it all peels off anyway!! Have a good week, Diane
There are always people, who don't look what the inhabitants do in some situations, and then they wonder about a roasted skin! We have tourists here in Black Forest, who go on mountain tour with the wrong shoes (flipflop) etc.
42C??? Holy cow, that's worse than our summers here. Stay cool and keep hydrated!
"Boiled shrimp" - funny, because I call them burnt palefaces "camaron." :D
Love your summary of the beach scene here, JM!!
