@Arija: This was the location of the Royal Ribeira Palace until it was destroyed by the great 1755 Lisbon Earthquake. When the city was rebuilt, the symmetrical buildings of this huge square were filled with government bureaus that regulated customs and port activities. Now these buildings house main offices of several ministries.
It's a gorgeous building from any angle! And I love the "Wonder Room." I'm assuming the latest and greatest fashions are on display here for sale to the general public? What great columns!

2 cool shots, but I especially loved that classic car parked out front!
WOW, was this a palace in days gone by?

Wow, great restoration !
the arches are fabulous!
I love the inside. It seems to glow. MB
That is quite a collection of arches in the photo!
The lighting on the arches really does it for me. Lovely shot, JM.
Love both your pictures, but the outside with the strange car in foreground is a masterpiece!
Buena restauración!!
Me alegra haberte dado la sorpresa del pescado, tienes que ir a verlo alguna vez:))
Buen domingo.
That interior takes my breath away. What an amazing way to highlight the groin vaults, so modern and yet so classic.
What a awesome interior indeed, JM!! The arches and lighting are magnificent!
Love that room!
Beautiful pillars.....
Love those soaring ceilings - it's beautifully lit.

Great looking interior. Love the building as a whole.
the interior is gorgeous.
This place is amazing inside.
I love the arches in that place. But the outside looks so deserted, what's up? No fashionistas in Lisbon? :)
Very posh fashion market!!! Have a good week Diane
Je ne suis pas trop shopping, mais dans ce cadre...
C'est splendide!
How aptly named!
Your first shot made my head spin JM, j'adore the arches..
I love the simplicity of this interior. I know it is complex but it is not as opulent like so many of the interiors in your country.
