This is supposed to be the oldest street in Oeiras (rua = street). There are some nice restored houses, but I've chosen these as I think they show the real atmosphere of the place.
Oh JM, this collection is wonderful. You knew I would like these I'll just bet. So old and full of charcter. This rua was the perfect choice. The wonderful tile sign...I want that! Bravo.
Wow. It's hard to believe there are actually beautiful spots like this in the world. Such a contrast to anything I ever see in the midwest. Haunting shots. Absolutely gorgeous.
Great shots. These lovely old streets have a lot of character and stories to tell.I love the weathered look, although I agree with Hilda too. Some of it needs to be restored and saved from the effects of time.

How wonderful, i am wishing to come to Lisbon for such a long time and now that I have seen this shot, i want to even more. xv
Yes,It has really nice atmosphere.
I like that pretty light.
I like the set of photos you've chosen, very nice JM :)
Much character in this street. I hope the houses get restored though — seems like such a loss of history if they're just left to deteriorate.
I really like these old, forgotten streets. But never in my city :/ Hmm...

Thanks for showing us this 'oldest street.' The photos are wonderful and certainly capture the atmosphere of this place. I feel like I'm there.
These are truly wonderful. This really does represent the real area. I could wander round here virtually and in the flesh all day.

Over here Rua is the Maori word for the number 2.
Tahi, Rua, Toru... 123
Beautiful. Old buildings are a weakness of mine. I just adore them.
Nicely framed photos.
Hi,
Your collection is wonderful.Your blog is sparkling. It has a great appeal. How where to able to cope such a lot and it is too good for words.
nice shot of the alley between two old structures. i can stay there for hours shooting those structures.
Great sots JM. Are these buildings in use at all? Hopefully they will be rescued and restored.
They look very old. I like the old tiled street sign too..
This somehow reminds me of Venice: buildings often look like needing some restoring, but when you get inside, you can find some fantastic apartments!
Truly a nice atmosphere...
Hi Jm - have had server problems so haven't be able to visit much.
I so love these old buildings. I'm a sucker for original architecture. Would love to see inside them.
I love these old houses. There are a lot similar to these in Belgrade. Very nice photos you have here!
